Engines
The id of each AI engine, and where Lumirank asks its questions.
An engine is the AI product an answer comes from. Lists and reports give it in the engine field. To count only some engines, send engine= with their ids.
| Id | Name | Where Lumirank asks |
|---|---|---|
chatgpt | ChatGPT | ChatGPT on chatgpt.com, and the OpenAI API with web search on |
gemini | Gemini | Gemini on gemini.google.com, and the Google Gemini API |
perplexity | Perplexity | Perplexity on perplexity.ai, and the Perplexity API |
ai_mode | Google AI Mode | the AI Mode tab of Google Search |
copilot | Copilot | Microsoft Copilot chat |
google_ai_overview | Google AI Overview and Search | a Google search: the AI Overview at the top, and the normal search results |
claude | Claude | the Anthropic API |
The engines field of GET /v1/brand lists the engines your brand tracks now. Older answers can come from an engine the brand no longer tracks. Those answers still count in reports.
The API has no field for the model. When a brand tracks 2 models of 1 engine, for example ChatGPT on chatgpt.com and ChatGPT through the OpenAI API, the answers of both count under chatgpt.
Google searches with no AI Overview
A Google search does not always show an AI Overview. A search result with only normal links counts only in the google_ai_overview rows of a report split by engine. It does not count in totals for all engines together. The dashboard counts it the same way.
New engines can be added to v1. If you get an engine id you do not know, handle it as a new source.
